F6F-5 "White 7" Bu Number Unknown, Flown by Ensign Robert E Murray, VF-29 USS Cabot April 1945. Lt(jg) R E Murray was VF-29's 'TopGun' with 10.33 confirmed kills, the unit producing a futher 11 aces. Operating against Japan, VF-29 claimed 113 victories, including 34 off Formosa on 16 October 1944-Murray claimed four on this day to achieve ace status. Aside from carrying 12 flags, denoting that both Murrays shared 'Betty" claim and a damaged Zeke had also been included in the tally, 15 bombing mission symbols have been painted as well on the side of 'Lucky 7' Blank and Nomarking too Credits in ReadMe.
